My dropbox is not updating
If this problem continues to persist, I would suggest that you visit the Dropbox support forum, and link to this question on superuser.- also mentions "Windows incompatible characters" in the filename. It would be prudent to re-submit a question detailing port-blocking and Dropbox, with a link to this initial question.Since you describe that your internet connection is intermittent, it may also be prudent to check whether or not you have maxed out your monthly data allotment with your internet service provider (ISP).But the syncing on the i Phone (haven't tested it on my i Pad or Windows box yet) is a concern. The app should sync as soon as a file is sent to your dropbox. From my experience with the developer API, it is possible to upload files to your Dropbox containing those characters, but the API will then prevent you from performing other actions on them via the same API, like renaming them, so I can see how files created on other operating systems may not sync back to a Windows machine. It may not explain why files existing on a Windows machine aren't being synced to Dropbox though.
Then on 18/5/2014 it stopped syncing for some reason.
